October 2018: Dr. Kelvin Chan Presents Korean Corner's GREEN Project at the United Nations Headquarters

Updated: Sep 19

On October 17, 2018, Dr. Kelvin Chan, Founder and CEO of Korean Corner Green Project (now UNGP for SDGs), was invited to present the “secret magic” behind the GREEN Project at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This invitation marked a significant milestone, as Dr. Chan became the first Chinese entrepreneur to present at the General Assembly Hall, with Korean Corner being the first SME in the world to receive such an invitation.

"We were honored and excited to be invited by the United Nations to showcase our GREEN Project and introduce how it raises awareness for environmental protection," Dr. Chan remarked, having spent two months preparing for this important presentation.

Accompanied by Gary Chan, CEO of Korean Corner’s USA branch, Dr. Chan delivered a 30-minute presentation that demonstrated how Korean Corner's innovative ECO-paper and creative design served as the core of a multi-synergy strategy for stakeholders. He explained how the GREEN Project could transform one-off commercial events into long-lasting, meaningful initiatives.

Additionally, Dr. Chan outlined how he integrated five Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the GREEN Project, emphasizing its ability to break industry and cultural boundaries. A key highlight of his presentation was how the project engages SMEs, government departments, non-profit organizations, schools, corporations, and the public—creating a win-win scenario for all stakeholders.
